Lampasas, Texas grew up around mineral springs in the 1850s.  It was the Indians who first viewed this hill country, tasted the mineral waters and realized their medicinal value.  In 1853, Moses Hughes came to the springs seeking a cure for his wife, having heard from the Indians of the medicinal and curative powers of the water.

In the 1880s the springs gained fame as a health resort. The area was promoted as an ideal health-giving place to live. While the mineral waters still flow through these springs, we are believing God for New Covenant Church to be "a new spring for new life" in the Hill Country of Texas.   

John 7:38 (NKJV) says, "He who believes in Me (Jesus), as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."  It is our prayer and intention, to make every effort to be that life-giving stream through the love of Jesus Christ.
